IWRR is focused on the interactions between water resources system and ecological system under both the impacts of natural changes and human activities in basins. With the professionals in basic theories, applied technologies and synthetic demonstration, our research aims at maintaining watershed water security. Our research achievements fully embody the multi-discipline crossing and integration among environment sciences, ecological sciences and water conservancy sciences.

IWRR leads or joins a broad range of key projects and programs on the evolution analyses and management of basin water resources in China, including Major State Basic Research Development Program of China (973 Program), National Natural Science Foundation Program of China, Key Science and Technology Program of Ministry of Water Resources, National Water Pollution Control Major Project of China, and National Key Technologies R&D Program, etc.
